Motor problems Review by Carl67
Rating
I purchased the Omega Mega Mouth BMJ330 new. I followed the instructions and after using it for 10 days, two times a day it stopped working in the middle of making juice. I returned it for a new one, after juicing for 17 days two times a day same thing happened. Very disappointed that the product did not hold up.

not quite perfect Review by skope

I bought this juicer to start my juicing plan. I have used every type of veg, and fruit, and it has been great. I did notice the motor tends to slow down sometimes (not while juicing, but just idle).
Not sure if this is a cooling mode, or just how it is. The only thing I would do to improve it would be to offer pitcher. Using it 3 times a day tends to very slightly discolor the plastic due to rotational rubbing of the food against the plastic.

very pleased Review by Dom

I've had this product for a little over a month with nearly every day use. The feed chute is huge and the motor is powerful so I do very very little prep work. (I do remove pits and stems.) No leaks or loss of power. Occasionally I run the pulp through twice just to make sure to get every last drop out. The pulp is fantastic for use in bread, muffins, even as ravioli filling. So overall, really happy.

Watch out for ... juice! Review by Sita
Rating

When juicing, juice flies everywhere. And I mean everywhere. If I don't cover the spout completely, I get carrot juice on my walls. It's not easy to cover the spout while operating the machine. I'm sure I could rig something up with enough thought, but the engineers should have done that. The chute also gets clogged up frequently.
I would definitely not recommend this product.

disappoinment Review by Maggie O.

It's really messy! Difficult to assemble. The RPM on the machine is high, so the fruit and vegetables juice is warm and after a few minutes the apple juice turns brown. I missed the deadline to return it, otherwise I would've done it in a second.

There is a right way to use juicers Review by D. Merkel

After reading the comments about this juicer, I am moved to write about this product's performance. I have owned and used the 1000 Series (no side chute) since 1981 - it still works perfectly when used correctly. (i.e. mixing leafy with hard causes the pulp to lay inside in such a way that juicer gets off balance). I am considering purchasing this one as I tire of cleaning out the bowl of the 1000 and want to be able to juice more without having to stop as often.

Now for this Omega. My sister owns two of these, as well as a masticating, and blenders. She recently purchased one of these for Earth Day here in Dallas. (She owns a juice bar.) It arrived 10 days before the event. She plugged it in and started to juice. It began to burn up. She contacted Omega who sent her a replacement within 2 days as well as a little nice surprise that I won't get into. She was up and running for Earth Day with two of these juicers, lemon press, and blenders. My husband and I operated the Omega 330s. One was used for "green drinks" (kale, spinach, parsley, w/a piece of fruit thrown in if requested) the other for the "specialty drinks" with mostly apple, pear, beets, carrots, ginger, cucumbers. We made about 250-300 drinks in two days with these two juicers. The cleanup was easy enough - dump the bucket and rinse the bowls, and cutting disc. We had a great time and everyone loved their juice.

There was no "juice spurting out" or any other spurting of the juicers. We were busy all the time and I was on the lookout for spills to clean up lest the Health Department stop by. So I suggest for those who are having trouble with "juice spurting out" that you keep the pusher in until the item is completely juiced; as that is the way it is suppose to be operated. I might add, my sister reports having "stuff spurting out" when she didn't empty the catch bucket as required during her "learning curve". We never had that problem at Earth Day as we operated within the design limits.

not a good choice for me Review by cartech

I bought this juicer last Spring after a serious surgery. I needed something that would make juice FAST! This one does but I have a hard time getting it clean enough for the lid to fit properly. It is needing a real brush job between the black rim piece and the lid. If the slightest pulp is left the lid fits wrong and the juicer makes a huge noise and scrapes off the black lid part. I have even gotten a knife and scraped almost all invisible pulp out of the ring that fits on top of the bowl. Now I can't attach the lid at all on one side. It just snaps open again. I can't remember where I bought the juicer...it's a consequence of the surgery, I'm afraid. I am trying to find a new lid today on the internet. I really need to be able to juice easily without a struggle. Wish me luck finding an alternative.

Glad I bought it. Review by Abby

After literally spending days researching through all the types of juicers and reading all kinds of reviews and watching videos, i finally decided to go with the Omega Big Mouth. the 10 year warranty makes it worthwhile to me. i was a little weary with the negative reviews but went ahead and got it. I am new to juicing but from what i can tell it does a great job. i love my juicer the pulp is very dry (some moisture) but got most of the juice. I don't have the problem with juice flying all over and its very easy to clean and assemble. I highly recommend this to anyone looking to get into juicing!

Questionable Review by Tiffany

I bought this juicer based on a youtube video not realizing that he was just an ad. I must say I am not very happy with this juicer as the juice doesn't stay in the juicer. I had to return it after a month because it started to eat the top cover. You would think that after a year some of these things would have gotten ironed out but I am sad to say that so far this juicer still needs some work. Customer service was good and replaced my juicer right away but I have not used it yet. I have to figure out how to stop the juice from going all over my kitchen first.

Really? Review by Julian Weaver

First, let me say that I am not new to juicing. I have an old Omega – I think it's the 1000 model. It is a centrifugal juicer without pulp ejection. I also have a Breville "wide mouth" (which I don't like), and an Omega 8006. SoI know how to assemble a juicer and I am very experienced with juicing.

I think my Omega Big Mouth may be defective. The blade shaves off plastic from the bottom of the top piece. And there is side leakage. I juiced beets, and red juice spilled out of the side, down onto the power switch area, and onto my counter.

I wanted this juicer to complement my Omega 8006. There are times that I don't want to do the cutting that the 8006 requires, so I wanted to use the Omega Big Mouth for those instances. But I don't want to consume plastic shavings and have juice spill over my counter.

I did place everything very precisely and made sure that it wasn't "user error". As I said above, I am very experienced with juicing, and this is the first juicer that I've used that has ever ended up juicing plastic.
