Have to remove a star for cleaning time Review by Leanne
Rating
I used this a lot last summer before I bought a Vitamix, which is very simple to be cleaned. Then I put the juicer away from my small kitchen but I'm going to use it this summer again.

I do like this juicer, but the filter does take a good while to clean.

Expect higher quality Review by G. Molloy

When I unpacked the Tribest I thought it looked very sleek, but it sure didn't seem like a $500+ item. If you add the individual prices up of each component from the Tribest website you quickly see you are paying a huge premium for this juicer. Also, it definitely takes effort and time to clean this due to large screen surface and many parts, though each time I did I got faster at it and it seemed like a fair trade off for great juice.

I made a quart a juice each day for four days and on the fifth day (after my produce was cleaned and ready to go) I turned it on it made a very loud grinding noise. I disassembled the unit, reassembled it and tried again - same loud grinding. I did this five times to make sure I wasn't forgetting anything. I called Tribest and got a customer service rep who had no sympathy.

Doesn't want to start Review by Jimmy
Rating
I had a great experience with the juicer the first two times I used it. After that the machine was inconsistent. Sometimes it would start but most times it would not, and some of the time it did start but would stop after only just beginning the jucing process, which was very frustrating after spending 15 minutes chopping a bunch of vegetables. When it works it is great but be prepared to spend hours in frustration try to figure out why it won't start. I would not receommend this product.

Buyer beware Review by Samuel Retzlaff

I am writing this review to share my story about my experience with Green Star juicers.

My wife and I have been routinely making about 2 gallons of vegetable juice per week for the last 6 years (we made other things such as almond butter, coconut cream etc etc). We have used the Le'Equip model for the first several months and then switching to Green Star Gold when learning of the nutrition benefits. We were happy with the Gold model until about a year ago, a friend of ours was inspired to start juicing, intrigued by the new Elite model claims we sold him our Gold model and forked out the cash for the new version.

After using the Elite model for the past 9 months, I have been disappointed enough to write my first negative review. The Elite routinely shuts down when running vegetables or coconuts through, we taped a wad of paper on the safety cut out so it would continue to work. The pulp is often much wetter than the Gold model, which is hard to understand because the Elite advertises how you get so much more juice. Thats not all, the juicing knob has been redesigned to be weeker, as they swapped out metal parts for plastic ones, and we have replaced that twice so far due to it cracking and leaving us stranded with piles of vegetables waiting to be juiced. And last but certainly not least, they claim it is so much easier to clean, and that is bull, I spent way too long cleaning up the juicer after making almond butter, normally a 10 minute job with the Gold model suddenly a 25 minute job with the annoying safety clamps dangling and getting in the way.

Please read this carefully, and I would advise everyone to save their precious pennies and buy the more durable Green Star Gold model, you will be so much happier!

Good Review by Juile W.

I have had my gs-elite for almost 3 weeks and i really like it. it performs better for me than the gs-1000 which i have been using for several years.

i like using the wooden plunger because it is gives me a lot more sensitivity when feeding things into the feeding chute.

it seems that the gs-elite makes carrot juicing a bit easier than with the gs-1000.

The clean up is very easy for me and i like the "snap open and close" new style latching arms of the gs-elite.

Most of the parts rinse off easily after a short period of soaking in the sink and i use my sink sprayer to 'squirt right on to' and clean the back part of the juicer body where everything attaches. also i can wash the cover easily in my dishwasher if needed and it comes out nice and clean.

One thing i personally enjoy about the gs-elite is that the feeding chute cover- assembly can be turned upside down and placed on a small towel after being washed so that it functions as a basket to hold the other juicer parts as they are drip drying after being washed in the sink. when i go to use my juicer again they are waiting for me nicely dried and ready to assemble.

It works, depending on the vegetable Review by Kevin
Rating
I bought this juicer to juice leafy greens. All I want it for is to get the most out of my greens. but I came to find out that it doesn't do a very good job at all juicing collards or kale. Those are the main 2 I wanted to juice. I don't care what screen you use (fruit or vegetable) or what knob you use on this juicer and how much you tighten or loosen it,(the control knob) it just won't work. You'll get a lot of pulp and an unbelievable amount of foam and very little juice. It does a great job with broccoli. It does an ok job with parsley and cilantro. but greens and kale! I never tried wheat grass. I found that it does an excellent job on apples, oranges, carrots and celery. But that's not what i bought it for.

A true workhorse Review by Vim

I purchased a less expensive juicer, and after using it a few times, I gave it to GoodWill. It was an awful mess to clean, and I never felt like I could ever get it completely clean. This juicer not only gets every bit of juice out of your produce, it's a breeze to clean it. No sharp blades, no hidden nooks and crannies. It dis-assembles and re-assembles quickly and easily.

What you will save on produce makes this worth the expense Review by Tara
Rating
My family has been juicing for years now with a popular-brand centrifugal juicer. My stepdad was diagnosed with cancer and we started researching Gerson Therapy. This juicer is NOT recommended for the Gerson Therapy, but their system is so complicated and expensive we decided to compromise. We went with a twin-gear because it's a much better juicer than a centrifugal but it's not nearly as much trouble as a 2-stage press system.

Anyway, we love it. We estimate we're getting twice as much juice per-veggie than we did with the centrifugal juicer. We juice at least 4 times per week (for 3 people) so we're thinking the price difference will easily be paid in a year just from the savings on produce.

It's also easier to clean than our old one. The hardest part to clean is the mesh screen. It has some tight corners that the pulp gets jammed into, but after cleaning it a couple times it gets much faster. The rest of the parts are easy.
