As long as they'll replace it ... Review by Claudia McKann
Rating
Through the years I have bought several cheap blenders. The gaskets tended to wear out. When that happened just as easy to replace because they were so cheap to begin with. The L'equip is the most expensive blender I have ever purchased and it received a great review in Cook's Illustrated. I have to say I am extremely disappointed. For some reason the underside of the cup developed cracks. The company did replace it. Now the blade has developed a crack. Again they were good enough to replace it. I have never experienced this with any of the much less expensive blenders I have purchased. I would recommend not purchasing this product.

I will say that I have had very good customer service from the company that handles l'Equip.

good blender -- stainless steel blades Review by Annette
Rating
So I've had this blender for about a month now and I've been cranking out awesome smoothies with this thing every day.

The biggest issue with this blender that most report is that the blade assembly base starts to chip and metal flakes end up in whatever you're blending. As soon as I received mine, the first thing I checked was that assembly and it does in fact have a stainless steel assembly. The company changed the design to higher-quality blades.

Some have said the pitcher is cheap. It is plastic but it seems sturdy to me. The lid is a little cheap-feeling though.

I saw a review that said the blades didn't come off and you have to blend soapy water to clean it. I'm not sure if that was an older design or not but mine does come apart... in fact there's a tool that comes with it to help you remove the blade assembly, although you can still remove it without the tool. I do recommend this blender.

This blender is awesome! Review by Adonis

I've had the Breville Ikon about a month now and it rocks. I looked at Vitamix, Blendtec, and Waring and decided for the price that this was a good choice. Pros: Good warranty and service. Variable speeds. More power than I actually need. Cons: Blades make noise when the blender is running empty. Make sure to ask customer support for new blades! The canister could be thicker. The top is tough to get off and on -- it's very tight (but this is also a plus.)

Danielle Review by green smoothies, blends ice
Rating

This one works is a great blender, I've had about 3 months now. At first I was a little annoyed because the lid is so tight its hard for me to get on and off (although my husband doesn't seem to have any issues with it). I make green smoothies with fruit and veggies that I make in batches and it would take forever with my trouble pulling the lid on and off. But then I figured out that I don't need to use batches - just dump it all in and blend, use the stick to push it down. Then I don't have little bits of spinach in my smoothies. Also great for blending ice. Easy to clean if you rinse it out right away.

Decent blender Review by Tate

I don't why, but I was expecting amazing things out of this machine. While it does blend well — well, in the end, it is just a blender. I have a Cuisinart CBT-500 that is close in performance (although it is incredibly loud). The RPM meter never reached 20,000. For the price, I am not all that impressed. The long warranty probably isn't necessary. I have had a $30 blender for years. It had a reasonable amount of use and it hasn't burned up. (I don't overload it -- I add as I go.) I also didn't like L'equip's plastic pitcher as I prefer glass. I decided to send it back. Not bad, but nothing special.

Would purchase again Review by Kelsey
Rating
I love this blender. It's power is amazing and after two weeks of use I am so very happy with my purchase. The only thing I would change would be the round carafe. The base is square and the round container oddly sits upon the base like it's a piece that doesn't belong. This doesn't hurt the integrity, but square carafes are much easier to manage while making smoothies. I would buy this unit again.

Don't underestimate this blender! Review by Phil Owen

I am so impressed with this blender. I've tried all the Oster, Hamilton beach, and expensive bar blenders and food service models. I cannot get over how great this blender is. The industrial design is amazing, don't underestimate the flat sides of the base. When they're flat you just wipe it once and you're done! The one-piece design of the pitcher is great too, so easy to clean. On another note, this is so much more quiet than the other blenders I've had. Really, it doesn't scare my pets. There's a rubber weight around the motor shaft on top of the base, which smoothes out the rpms. I will say, I wish it came with a slightly larger pitcher. One important thing — be sure to use the switch to turn it off, and not just the rotary rpm knob, because its possible to stop the motor by turning the knob all the way down. Unless you turn off the switch you will be wasting electricity, even if the motor isn't turning.

I love this blender!

Holds up to years of use Review by Clint
Rating
Great blender, strong motor, blends everything with ease and looks great. We purchased the L'Equip RPM blender a few years ago for the novelty of having a tachometer on a kitchen blender. As noted by others, it is a very powerful blender, containing a 1HP motor. I suspect it could blend a tablet computer, but my needs are more limited - it shines blending smoothies.

After years of use, the blade assembly/ gasket at the bottom of the pitcher started to leak. I called L'Equip's warranty department, and without any fuss about proof of purchase, they promised to send the necessary replacement parts. This is by far the best customer service I have received all year, and perhaps the best ever from an appliance manufacturer. Well done, L'Equip!

While the L'Equip RPM blender is well made and solid, it does have a bit of a handcrafted, laboratory instrument feel to it.

In short, this blender has a great design and blending performance to match. These are exceeded only by L'Equip's customer service. Highly recommended.

no blender is perfect Review by Robin

I have to agree with most reviews that the canister has its problems and I will be contacting Kitchen Resources soon to replace the canister. I wouldn't buy any other blender. This is the coolest line of appliances in the market and they are worth the investment.

I've had my L'Equip blender for years and love it. It has a handmade look, industrial and sculptural. It dresses up any kitchen counter like no other blender. It looks great at parties. Not to mention that it makes killer margaritas.
