Nesco FD-1018P Garden Master 8 Tray Food Dehydrator (FD1018P)

The Nesco FD-1018 Gardenmaster Pro Dehydrator is the top of the line model in Nesco's lineup. It is more powerful, larger in space AND expandable! 1000 Watts of power insures a perfect dehydration process everytime and its patented Converga-Flow fan sends heat up the exterior pressurized chamber as well as horizontally across each tray for a even dry. The Gardenmaster Pro Dehydrator operates quietly and has a 2,400 RPM motor, a 4.5 inch fan and an adjustable thermostat.

The adjustable thermostat allows for a range of temperatures from 95 to 155 degrees - adjustments for any type of food you wish to dehydrate!

This unit is equipped with a Special Vita-Save Exterior that blocks light to retain more of the food's vital nutrients during the dehydrating process.

How a Refund is Calculated

Refunds are easy! Expect to see a credit through the original payment method within four weeks from sending the unit back to us. This includes the time to send the unit back to us (5-10 Days), the time it takes to actually inspect the item (3-5 Days) and the time it takes your bank to issue the credit to your statement (5-10 Days). Refused items will fall under the same calculation.

A Refund is calculated by the following method:

Purchase Price (SKU Price) - Actual Shipping Charges + Refund of any Taxes
If you return any items from an order that received a "shipping promotion", the original shipping fees incurred from the shipping carrier will be deducted from the refund amount unless the return was due to our error.
No Restocking Fee

Orders Returned After 30 Days

Orders which are outside of our outlined policy may be returned up to 45 days after the order date.

The order will be credited 80% of the purchase price if outside our outlined policy
These orders must be approved with a requested RMA

Partial Refunds

Partial Refunds will be issued for the following:

Items returned outside our original outlined policy (80%)
Items returned without all original packaging (80%)
Items which have been returned without a RMA (90%)
Items received dirty will incur a $20 cleaning fee
A flat $10 re-box fee will be added on Excalibur, Vita-mix and Champion returns

Exchanges / Faulty Items

If you received a faulty item and need to exchange it for the same, please contact the respective manufacturer for the quickest resolution. If you need help locating the manufacturer's number please email support.

If you would like to exchange an item for a different one, please return the original item by requesting an RMA (you will be refunded your original purchase price once the item is received) and then place another order for the item you wish to purchase. There is no need to wait for us to receive the original item prior to placing your new order.

Notice of Short or Damaged Shipments

While we do everything we can to make sure all of your shipment arrives complete and intact we are human (and so is FedEX) and can make mistakes! If your shipment arrives short of any item or arrives damaged we must be notified within 48 hours of receipt of the package. Please be sure to open your package the day it arrives to make sure everything you ordered was included correctly. If not, please contact support.

Our new Garden Master been going almost non-stop now for the past 4 days. It dries FAST! We absolutely love it! We've done some banannas, strawberries, mushrooms, tomatoes,pounds and pounds of potatoes, and bananas. Garden Master dries all 8 trays consistently in about half the time it takes my smaller, older dehydrators to work. I am thrilled with the way it performs. Now I just have to decide whether I want to buy another Garden Master. I wish that the trays for my smaller dehydrators were interchangeable, but of course they aren't.

This is my second Nesco (the first is still working!) As far as I am concerned, it is one of the best ones on the market. You can fit tons of food onto 30 trays!
This unit comes with 8 trays, screens, and fruit roll forms which is enough to get anyone started in the drying process. Watermelon dried is fantastic! The book that comes with this model takes you through every scenerio you can imagine. If you like Beef Jerky, get the Jerky kit that is offered by Nesco. You will never buy jerky from a store again.

This dryer works very well. Easy to use, easy to clean, not much noise. Very convenient to assemble. So far I've used it to dry cherries that had been dipped in sugar. The melted sugar was still easy to clean! Highly recommend this.

I researched a long time before I settled on this dehydrator and all the accessories. I originally bought it to try and improve our freeze dried meals when backpacking and canoeing, I now see that it has many practical (and delicious ) uses at home, too. It is powerful, efficient and easy to clean. I love it. The fan isn't too loud. This is my first dehydrator. I have had this just over a month and it's so much fun. So far I've dried 4 kinds of beef jerky, salmon jerky (really delicious -- try it!) applesauce fruit leathers, yogurt- granola fruit leathers, strawberries, peppers, bananas, mangos, beef stew (really) and a sausage/potato/egg breakfast bake. It's really nice for camping breakfasts. Get some books, start reading and don't be afraid to try different things!

I bought this Nesco as an upgrade and regifted the old one(and new owner is getting good use of it). The new Garden master works well. It includes a sturdier metal base, double-walled lid, and 8 trays. The control switch has also been improved. I have made a full batch of venison jerky. Delicious.

I did my research on dehydrators for about a month and narrowed my choices down to the excalibur and the gardenmaster. I decided to go with this model because of the expandibility factor, but after a few rounds I think I should have gone with the excalibur. This really isn't designed for pie crusts, breads, whole peppers, etc. if you are thinking about purchasing a dehydrator and want to dry those foods, choose the excalibur.

We purchased this dehydrator about 15 years ago. What a wonderful machine. The design is fantastic. Each tray dried evenly without my standing over it, rotating food. The 15-year-old unit finally gave up, it had put in many many hours. After buying this new model, it's apparent that things have changed over time. The new base is poorer quality and does not have the adjustable fan. Nothing seems to be built like it used to be. The new base is still running ok. The design is still superior to box dryers. I would still tell someone to buy this unit, but not to expect it to last 15 years.

This is my second of these dehydrators and this was the better bargain. I love that it comes 8 trays instead of 4 and it includes 8 fruit roll sheets and 8 cleaning screens that you usually have to buy after the fact. My old trays fit the new one, which saves me money. Also fantastic. I am up to 16 trays so far.

Our ancient dehydrator began to fall apart a few weeks ago and after doing thorough research a replacement, we decided to go witht the Nesco. Though a bit noisy (it is fan driven - our old one used a heating element), it works extremely well and we are very pleased.
