Works unbelievably well and extracts completely dry with 3 quick passes (I get about 8-10 oz. juicer per 2 qts. winter wheat grass). I wish I knew what the "matte finish" consisted of. It wears off slightly (into the juice) with time.

It's a very sturdy juicer, a great value for its price point which is fantastic because it won't rest. You do have to take it apart with every use to clean it, to keep it juicing while, and to achieve maximum extraction. I don't like to clean it, but I'm sure that as far as manual juicers go it won't get much better.

The first juicer I purchased was a bad idea, so I was a bit leery about purchasing another manual juicer. I wanted one that was reasonably priced, would last, and was easy to use. I am very happy with this one. This juicer is constructed entirely of stainless steel. It's easy to assemble and clean, which is very important to me because I use it almost every day. Thankfully it is very easy to crank.

am completely twitterpated by my Norwalk to 275, which means I own one of the best juicers in the world, and also one of the most expensive.) It can juice wheatgrass and the results are simply superb. Its one weakness is that it requires a very large amount wheatgrass in order to create that superb juice, and that isn't always practical. I want to incorporate more wheatgrass into my life, and the Wheateena is far beyond my means, I've come to the conclusion that going with a manuel juicer is the best choice. I settled for this one.

With the exception of the finish ,this one is actually identical to the Hurricane. I actually hated it when I first tried it. I cranked and cranked into infinity and nothing happened. I took the thing apart, removed the glob of wet grass and tried again. Aha, we have juice! After going through this exact same process for the next several days, it occurred to me to change my procedure–I wasn't working with the same juicer, after all, this was a manual and not an electric–I finally got the results I wanted.

It's solidly constructed, rust is not a problem, it's just a matter of getting used to the extra effort, which I note some people have complained about, but that's just a natural thing when you choose a manual appliance. If you are considering a Hurricane, be aware that the clamp does not accommodate a wide countertop. The instructions indicate that this model can be used for other fruits and vegetables. Given the many years of experience I have with juicing, that's hogwash. Buy a different model–an Acme or a Champion–for those vegetables and fruits, and use this juicer for what it is intended for–just grasses.

Not a reliable juicer Review by vcoltrane

I purchased one of these just a couple of days ago. It juiced one hand full of wheatgrass - then it stopped working. The store where I purchased it is telling me that have a no return policy on juicers! It's obvious the machine is defective. For a $100+ dollars! - it sucks!
