completely satisfied with the Hurom! Review by organic girl

I have had several centrifigal juicers, all high-end. I now have the Hurom and there is no comparison on the amount and quality of the juice. I highly recommend it!

Dan, are you using it properly? Review by Drew

I have a first or second generation Hurom and it's fantastic but there was some necessary fiddling in the beginning. I don't know which generation you bought but here is what I suggest: If yours came with two strainers, use the white one. The yellow one is for more pulp output (great for oj). Also, make sure that the rubber stopper is not inserted-- if it is you will get chunky juice. In addition to this, if you insert really big chunks of fruits and veggies and if the juicer gets clogged, you will also get chunkiness coming out the wrong spout. I juice mostly greens anywhere from one to five times a day and clean accordingly and although I get the occasional problems, it's served me well. Give it another shot, take your time figuring out the best way for you. Take time to cut everything into small pieces and and make sure pits/seeds are removed. You'll end up loving it.

good for decoration Review by Dan

Like a dummy, I bought two of these juicers one for myself and the other for my sister who had cancer. I've had this juicer for about four months and juice daily. Thick juice coming out of the chute. You get more pulp then juice with the Hurom. I truly want my money back. Does anyone know how to go about it? Now I have TWO useless pieces of junk sitting on my kitchen counter with a 10 year warranty but no way to get service under it. Please, Please don't buy this juicer. It is a piece of JUNK, really. This juicer is not worth your money or any one else. It's only a paper weight.

not worth the price Review by Gareth

I have been juicing for years, always in search for the ultimate juicer. Anyone who juices a lot looks for one that is easy to clean. I thought the Hurom offered some innovation, self-cleaning and good for hard and soft stuff. It is easy to put together but self cleaning it is not. A key component is a stopper that is very easy to lose and is not covered in the warranty. I am going on my third and shipping takes 3 weeks. It has a problem with hard foods like carrots and beets backing up the feeder tube. Soft fruits were poor as well and I was not impressed when it comes to wheatgrass. While the slow speed motor has lots of power, the basket … Within 2 months the plastic starts to form hairline fractures. This diminishes the effectiveness of the unit. With 4 months things start to get worse and in 6 months it becomes dangerous and it might explode on you as it did me. The quality of the juice is sometimes good however it clogs up easily. I was hoping not to have two juicers one for greens and one for carrots and alike, like my Breville (good juicer almost industrial grade) and the Hurom to do all my juicing. Not a deal from my point of view. Replacement parts are frustrating because you will need one part within a week if you are not careful clean it. I have documented the complaints above, sending photos and keeping track of emails. While the Operations Manager is a very nice guy and has sent me several replacement baskets and stoppers. his corporate bosses are not. DO NOT BUY THIS UNIT ... you will need another within the year not worth $350 I paid for it.

Hurom customer service ... ? Review by Jerry
Rating
I've had the juicer for about 6 months now and at first it worked great. I've owned every juicer there is from Champions to Green Stars and the Huron is the latest greatest thing so I thought I'd buy one based upon the self-feeding feature which would save my arm I got the juicer in April of 2010 and it's now September. At first all worked great but after time the machine started to slow and its flaws began to show. I won't get into the minor details but I must relate the major reason for this review. The strainer's plastic parts which are molded into the stainless steel basket began to crack. I make 1 quart of carrot apple juice daily and yesterday I had to put the Huron HU-100 away because it's no longer juicing. The machine is spewing out only pulp. I have called the company's phone number many times. No one answers. I have e-mailed them through their web site 4 times now regarding the strainer cracks also stating that I would even buy a replacement strainer if they would just reply and tell me how....I registered my warranty ands even joined their customer program... Not a peep. My next step is this review. Maybe they read them and will realize they shouldn't ignore their customers. They say the Huron HU-100 has a 10 year warranty but what good is it if you can't reach anyone?

Breville is better Review by Thomas Martin

The Hurom juicer has many flaws:

1-clogs up when juicing fibrous greens such as kale, celery, collards, pineapple, heats up the juice when the discharge starts to clog.
2-when pulp is strained the yield is low.
3-leaks.
4-constantly jamming.
5-very cheaply made.
I would not recommend the Hurom slow juicer for anyone wanting to juice vegetables.I would recommend the Breville juice fountain – higher yield, and much more efficient.

Tips for greens Review by Naomi

Some reviewers have mentioned problems with greens. If you roll up the green leafy vegetables before putting into the juicer and follow them with a firmer vegetable like a carrot, there is no problem.

quiet operation Review by Steph

I bought the Hurom to replace a centrifugal juicer because I wanted to produce juice that had maximum nutrients. The Hurom will keep your juice fresh in a fridge for up to 48 hours before it deteriorates. The pulp that comes out of the Hurom is as dry as can be so you certainly get all the juice from your produce. It is also a lot quieter than the centrifugal juicers.

Happy Review by Julia

I would consider myself somewhat of an "intermediate juicer". I previously owned a nice Breville centrifugal juicer and was disappointed by the extremely wet pulp and low yield, the noise, and the additional parts to clean. The first time I used the Hurom juicer, I was so amazed at how much juice I got and how dry the pulp was. Keep in mind that if you like to do juice fasts like myself that the juice comes out with some pulp remaining I would recommend also purchasing some nut milk bags (or something similar) to strain the juice. But the juice is fantastic, delicious, and the colors are much more vibrant than anything I made with the centrifugal! Take time to chop up all your fruits and veggies before juicing. It puts a lot less strain on the motor, increases the amount of juice you get, and increases the lifetime of the juicer. I have not had any problem with it...juicing spinach, apples, cucumbers, carrots, zucchini, etc. Overall, it is a fantastic product and worth the money! I will never drink juice out of a centrifugal juicer again!
