The heat generated by the lamps is minimal. For compact inside greenhouses, they work great.

I have the Glow Panel lighting up some tomato seedlings, replacing a fluorescent light. The fluorescent light worked better. Also, it would be nice if this thing had an on-off switch, but it doesn't. You have to unplug it to turn it off. It does seem to work, at least some, as the plants are still growing, but I was expecting more spectacular results. I think I was faring better with the fluorescent.

I am growing Bhut Jolokia "Ghost Chile" and some Scotch Bonnets in my bathroom under the sink off of this one light. I actually started from seed and in four weeks have 3 sets of true leaves that are 4" long and the plant height is right at 6 inches. Air temp is 70ish and it is set on a timer. Really good product. I am thinking of buying the bigger light for more plants to over winter.

When I received the glow panel and started using it I noticed that three LED bulbs in a row would flicker and go out. One of the three LED bulbs was loose causing the other two LED bulbs to not light up. On further inspection I observed that the soldering on the loose LED bulb was not done properly, which was producing a weak connection, therefore causing the bulbs to flicker and go out. If I push the loose LED bulb gently to one side I can get all three bulbs to light up. I feel that the quality should be better than this. Other than that the LED bulbs are very bright, and my plants started perking up within hours of using it. I would recommend it if I hadn't gotten a slightly defective one. Otherwise it is a great product.

I recently purchased a soldering iron and learned how to solder (It's quite easy actually). After soldering the loose LED bulb everything is fine now!

When this unit works, it seems to put out enough full spectrum light to do exactly what it claims to do. My seedlings responded well, my mini roses bloomed and thrived. Alas, it seems to be turning itself on and off at random, which means that either I'm going to have to find a way to fix whatever ails it, or get rid of it.

I have to say I find the square shape less useful than a rectangle might be, but it's workable. The hanging system is odd. Still, for the price all that is minor. The problem is a presumed short in the system. Possibly it's an anomaly, though I have noticed a couple of reviews which mention similar issues. Just be aware that there might be problems. If you get a good unit, it really does what it's supposed to do.

I was excited to try these out. I set 'em up and was thoroughly impressed with the amount of light that such a cheap unit was able to produce, and I could notice immediate results with my plants. The only issue that I have, is that one of the units keeps cutting out every couple of minutes for only a couple seconds at a time, the other one does not seem to have that problem.

Do not purchase this panel! When I first took this item out of the box, it was painfully obvious that it was an low quality product. The panel is made of cheap, flimsy cardboard. When I first plugged it in, there were four sets of 3 lights that weren't lit up. With a little bit of wiggling I was able to get all but one set of 3 lights on. Bad sign.

I tried two different sets of seedlings with this panel, and set the panel at different heights, both sets of seedlings ended up with skinny leggy stems. Not good.

When I checked my seedlings this morning, only 9 out of about 100 LEDS were on, and those that were on were barely emitting any light. This piece of junk failed.

I'm going with another brand as soon as I can save enough money.

Broke In Two Months Review by Amy

I bought two Glow Panels and one stopped working after two months of use. I sent it back to the company (Sunshine Systems) and they refused to give me a refund or send me a replacement panel. They said the unit was discontinued. (They are still available for sale with several merchants.) Even after I sent a receipt they did not replace the panel. I'm disappointed I spent so much money for something that lasted for two months.
