I already have a different type of dehydrator but I've heard such good things about the Excalibur that I had to give it a try. I love it! So much more drying area, and it's faster. My old dehydrator will go to a good friend.

I bought this to make vegan crackers and wraps. The five trays let me make a couple different recipes at a time. It is big. It takes up a whole counter in my condo kitchen. That's my only complaint. This dehydrator is great!

Excaliber was recommended to me by a friend and I have not been disappointed. Try pears! This dehydrator is excellent! Be sure to rotate trays half way through so drying is even front to back. Remember that the recommended times are influence by the density and size of the food you place in the trays.

We purchased this product to help us with a raw food diet. We only used it twice and returned it. The low temperature was too low. We tried apples and bananas but they tasted awful. My daughter tried to make crackers but they stuck to the plastic grid on the shelves. The machine was big and noisy. Not impressed.

Having switch to a paleo diet I have struggled with finding food options. This dehydrator is great! It takes up space but my first couple batches of jerky have turned out great. It's easy to clean and has enough room for three pounds of meat. If your looking for ways to change your diet without adding sugar, then this is perfect.

I need a bigger counter. This dehydrator is huge.

So far I have dried a variety of fruits — mostly apples — which all turned out to be delicious. Although it was already mentioned in the book (a recipe book comes with the dehydrator), that blueberries won't work. I wanted to try it out for myself. The result is - they don't work.

Veggies, like celery, carrots and onions are extremely flavourful when revived in water. I couldn't believe it. It's important to cut everything the same size if possible.

Since this is the first time I'm using a dehydrator I'm not able to say if this one is the best dehydrator on the planet, but I can say that 5 trays is the way to go for a small to average-sized family. Whatever you dry lasts for weeks, so if more trays are needed, it's fine!

Seems to work great, but I find I don't use it as often as I thought I would. The outside is made of plastic, the trays are plastic, and the little heater/air blower inside seems small. Works great, don't get me wrong, but it was expensive. Also, a little difficult to store. I do use it to dry blueberries that I just picked, and to make kale chips. My kids love them, But I just don't use the dehydrator that often.

I received this dehydrator for Christmas. I've already made kale chips, quiche, raw bar-b-q, and veggie kebabs. Now I'm off to go make some green crackers.

I have had the 3500 for three days. Since I live alone, I decided on a 5 tray dehydrator. It's a nice looking machine with only a few parts. The trays are a little flimsy but sufficient. Some people complain about the noise but I don't think it's loud.

The first thing I tried was kale chips. The kale came out pretty good. The smaller ones dried first and the larger ones were still a bit chewy in spots, so I need to organize them better next time. The yield was nice bowlful but I would really like to have made more.

Next, I tried beef jerky. The dehydrator did a nice job. I didn't calculate the time. I did mine for 6 hours and it was bit tough. I prefer them a bit more chewy. London broil was better than eye round.

The I tried an onion bread. Was in there for 15 hours and came out cracker-like (which I wanted). The Excalibur did a nice job on them. Now I am working on fruit leather-- apple, grape and pineapple.

The one thing I didn't like was needing to rotate the trays when I made the kale. It doesn't seem like I should have had to -- I was only using the second and fourth trays. I'm removing one star for that.
