In terms of performance, this is light years ahead and well worth the extra money. With the Breville, I can put one or two large carrots or several small carrots into the Ikon's gaping mouth! I can also juice a whole medium sized apple, bundle of celery, yams or beets. My old juicer would bog down as the carrots hit its blades, but the Ikon just pulverizes whatever I throw into it.
In terms of juice quality, the concoctions that I have created taste delicious. The juice is vibrant and a deep, rich color. There is no pulp in the juice from the Ikon. The pulp is very dry compared to my old juicer.
Clean up is quite easy and I can get the Breville cleaned and reassembled in two or three minutes. All it takes is a bit of water and soap in the sink and a brush. I start washing the pieces in order of reassembly and put them back on the juicer as I get them cleaned. If I'm busy, I just toss the pieces in the dishwasher.
With this new juicer, my sporadic use has turned into fanatical use and I make some sort of juice around twice a day.
