Kid Friendly Juicing Recipes!

Kid Friendly Juicing Recipes!

If you’re a mom like me, then you are doing your best to feed your children their daily dose of fruits and veggies, even if you have to hide the fact that they’re getting them. I have two of the pickiest eaters on earth under my roof, and while they won’t eat their spinach – they WILL drink it!

Juicing Tips For Your Kids

If you’re looking to introduce juicing to your children the biggest thing to remember is keep it simple – and fun!

Start out with single juices first. Plain apple juice or plain orange juice is always a good go-to.

Try diluting your child’s juice with (distilled or filtered) water. You can use the 1:1 ratio.

Use your child’s favorite produce. Chances are if they love it eat it whole, then they’d love to drink it juiced, too.

Remember that if something is strong on your tummy, it would probably upset your child’s tummy. So use items like beets and red cabbage in small doses.

Cover a strong produce (like kale) with a sweet produce (like carrots).

Make up nicknames for your juices. Kids have more fun with them and it helps to distract from the weird colors that juices can sometimes be (example: spinach drinks can be The Incredible Hulk).

Use bland produce whose flavor hides and compliments other fruits and veggies. Like butternut squash, spinach, and sweet potatoes.

For extra fun, we always put our juice in a fancy, plastic glass, and give them their favorite swirly-straws to drink from!

With all recipes, remember to wash the produce well. Remove all stems, seeds and rinds. Roll leafy items up together and juice first. Process produce with the most water (juice) content last. Consume immediately. Enjoy!
